Here are a few tips to help grow Kratom Plants

Kratom Seeds

Despite what you may think, these little guys play a huge part in whether or not you’re kratom plant flourishes, or flat out dies.

Only the freshest kratom seeds will actually grow. And when we say fresh, we mean fresh. Anything less than incredibly fresh kratom seeds, will not grow. Not only do you need to be sure that you’re purchasing the freshest stock of seeds, but you must also expedite the shipping to your house or apartment, so that your seeds aren’t floating around amongst other mail for a week or two. Buy a large amount of seeds, as you’ll need all you can get in order to produce a plant or two.

Soil

Find and use only humus rich, fertile, wet soil with good draining qualities. Your seedlings need a lot of water, but too much without any drainage ability will cause fungus and pesticides. Keep the soil moist continuously, but try not to flood your plants.

Weather Conditions

While the seeds are in their germination stage, they do not need full sunlight. In fact, too much direct sunlight is bad for germinating these seeds. Once you begin to see the first sprouts, keep the plants protected from cold temperatures. Anything under 60 degrees Fahrenheit will kill your plants within a couple of days. If you’re storing your plants outside, keep a close eye on the weather conditions. As kratom plants begin to grow, they will become more sturdy and you won’t have to watch them so carefully. The same goes for their surrounding weather environment – as they mature, they won’t need such specific temperature limitations.

Feeding Kratom Plants

Kratom plants are heavy eaters. They will soak up more water and plant food than you might have ever imagined possible. That said, try and provide your kratom plants with the best soil – which is rich in nitrogen, especially if you plan on keeping the soil decently wet throughout their lifespan.

Additional Tips for Growing Kratom Plants

  • We recommend starting with a rooted kratom plant clone, that can be purchased online.
  • If you’re considering purchasing clones and cuttings instead of kratom seeds or rooted kratom plants, think again. These typically do not root well, and are very vulnerable to infection. Even worst, they tend to make ganglier, scrawny kratom trees instead of strong, healthy ones.
  • To help increase the strength and growth of your kratom plant, stimulate it with a fan. Yes, you read that right! The use of a fan, or ‘wind’, has been linked to increased levels of Mitragynine in kratom trees.
  • In order to grow the best kratom plants, you need to try your best to mimic the plant’s native environment. You can do so by placing your trees in the sun during daylight hours, and back in the shade at night. In addition, keeping the temperature a few degrees warmer near your kratom plant will help stimulate growth. A warm humidifier also works great for increasing a kratom plants strength, while also speeding up the growing process.
  • It’s best to harvest kratom plants when they are close to full-size. Additionally, it’s recommended to harvest kratom plants around late autumn.
